Rally in the Valley

💥RALLY IN THE VALLEY💥 June 3rd and 4th We are thrilled to announce that the Carolina Climbers Coalition is joining forces with the Central Appalachian Climbers Coalition to bring you a climbing weekend you won’t soon forget at Hidden Valley! 

There will be ample time for climbing but we also want to take time to give back by doing some trail work, graffiti removal, and trash pick up during the rally. This wonderful crag has long been the gateway to sandstone climbing here in southwest Virginia which is why we can’t wait to celebrate the over 400 routes that can be found at Hidden Valley. 

The first bolts where put in during the early 1990s by Gus Glitch, Koma, and others who saw the potential of this sandstone. In the mid 2000s though the area was closed to climbing until the Carolina Climbers Coalition was able to purchase the cliff in 2014 and subsequently open it back for public use for climbing. Fast forward to 2023 and the CCC has been working on rebolting the area and maintain the trails at Hidden Valley. As you can see this place deserves to be celebrated and we can’t wait to spend a weekend with you celebrating the climbing success at Hidden Valley and continue the legacy of folks who make it possible to Rally at the Valley!
