CACC Brings Climbing Clinics to Virginia Highlands Festival

This year, we had the chance to team up with the Virginia Highlands Festival to offer a Free Bouldering Clinic & Climbing Excursion, and it was a blast! Our goal was simple: bring locals out to experience the amazing climbing right here in Southwest Virginia, and it was great to see so many people take part.

Local Climbing, Local People

We kicked things off with a bouldering clinic, open to climbers of all levels. Whether you were new to the sport or a seasoned pro, our instructors helped everyone get comfortable and try some fun challenges. It was awesome seeing so many people discover new skills, gain confidence, and most importantly climbing!

Guided Roped Climbing with Rock Dimensions

For those ready to push it further, we brought in Rock Dimensions, an expert guiding service from Boone, NC, to offer a guided roped climbing experience. Participants had the chance to scale some rocks, learn new techniques, and get a taste of the kind of climbing Southwest Virginia is known for. The experience was safe, exciting, and built a sense of community among the climbers.

Why Southwest Virginia?

Southwest Virginia is home to some incredible, yet often overlooked, climbing spots. From bouldering to roped routes, this region offers more than most people realize. Our event helped bring that to light, and we’re excited to see more locals getting outside to explore what’s in their own backyard.
